Native to Sarcoxie, Mo., Jeremy Lawyer has had a pretty good year, finishing eighth in the Angler of the Year standings in the Central Division of the Costa FLW Series, winning the FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) All-American and finishing fifth in the Forrest Wood Cup. I joined him on Table Rock for the second day of practice for the Costa FLW Series Championship to get a look at one of fishing's hottest sticks in action.
Fall is a tough time to host a championship bass tournament, what with the fish in transition and lake conditions dependent on both long-term and short-term weather patterns.

Though only 18 years old, Sheldon Collings of Grove, Okla., made a major career move by winning the FLW Bass Fishing League Regional presented by Ranger at Lake Dardanelle. It was Collings' first victory.
It was a tournament of firsts for Jason Nixon and Alex Hester, the winners of the boater and co-angler divisions, respectively, at the Lake Hartwell FLW Bass Fishing League Regional in Sene-ca, S.C., which took place Oct. 27-29. Although both anglers had won their share of money and trophies in past tournaments, but neither had won a boat before this tournament, and neither had ever qualified for the BFL All-American. Both anglers completed those tasks over the weekend, qualifying for the All-American to be held at Pickwick Lake in May 2017, and leaving Lake Hartwell with a new Ranger boat.

Because the U.S. had harbored and protected his family, Kweekul always felt he had a debt to repay, which he did in the form of serving in the U.S. Army National Guard. He spent a year in Iraq as a result, receiving a badge for seeing combat, before coming home and retiring from the service.

The 2016 season is finally winding down, and I can't believe how crazy this year has been. I've had a great year full of some good memories, including winning a Costa FLW Series tournament and a Walmart FLW Tour event, plus some not-so-good finishes. But as a whole I'm more than happy with how it all went down. That's a topic for another time, though
FLW announced today that a service access agreement has been reached with Mercury Marine to allow the outboard manufacturer to transport its service trailers to all Walmart FLW Tour, Costa FLW Series and various T-H Marine Bass Fishing League (BFL) events to service FLW anglers that utilize Mercury outboard engines and/or MotorGuide trolling motors. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Ever since vibrating jigs burst out of secrecy and onto the national scene they've been catching bass. Often referred to generically as ChatterBaits because of the Z-Man Original ChatterBait, the baits have produced plenty of expert anglers. One such expert is Bryan Schmitt.

I really feel like my game will be escalated next year. I've had some years, successful or not, that I didn't feel like I learned a darn thing. This was not one of those years. After doing this as long as I have, to feel like you learned, and to know that fire to go out and kick butt again next year burns bright as ever is a good feeling.
