Effective immediately, T-H Marine will assume title sponsorship of the Bass Fishing League (BFL), which recently announced an impressive schedule of fisheries for 2017. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Mental pain brings agony, apprehension and distress. Physical pain causes aches and excruciating moments. Walmart FLW Tour pro Todd Auten experienced the one and endured the other back in August at the Forrest Wood Cup.

Lake of the Ozarks is giant and filled with cover, from about a billion docks to laydowns, brush piles and rock. For the competitors in the Costa FLW Series event presented by Evinrude, the sheer size of the fishery proved daunting at times, but in the end a stout group of locals and a few out-of-towners figured it out. Duke Jenkel largely hunkered down in one section of docks for the win, but he wasn't the only one to catch 'em good.

It'd be tough to say that the weather from Hurricane Matthew didn't have an impact on the third day of the 2016 FLW Bass Fishing League Regional on North Carolina's Kerr Lake. Yet, none of the competing anglers was complaining about it at the final weigh-in. Boater David Wright of Lexington, N.C., certainly made the right adjustments, catching a five-fish limit that moved him into the top spot for his second BFL win of 2016.
Docks and jigs naturally featured big on Lake of the Ozarks, but that wasn't all that got the job done. Indeed, the pros in the Costa FLW Series event presented by Evinrude on Lake of the Ozarks actually employed a pretty good variety of baits, and few of the top 10 pros were one-horse ponies for the whole tournament.

Posting 14 pounds, 4 ounces on day one of the Costa FLW Series event presented by Evinrude on Lake of the Ozarks, Duke Jenkel of Pinckneyville, Ill., was mired in 23rd place. He turned it around after that. Weighing 19-14 on day two, he moved to fifth place, then followed with 18-13 on the final day to finish in first place with a 52-5 total. It's his second FLW win. One of only three pros from outside of Missouri in the top 10, Jenkel bested a group he described as "Ozark sharks" for the first-place prize of $38,815.
Sacking up limits worth 12 pounds, 2 ounces on day one and 14-15 on day two, followed by four fish for 10-9 on the final day, Brad Hostetler Jr. totaled 37-10 and earned the win on the co-angler side of the Costa FLW Series event presented by Evinrude at Lake of the Ozarks. Scott Parsons, who tied by total weight, finished second as Hostetler's big day-two bag secured the tiebreaker. For the win, Hostetler will take home $5,000 and a fully rigged Ranger Z117 with a 90-hp Evinrude outboard.
The third day of the Costa FLW Series presented by Evinrude on Lake of the Ozarks dawned crisp, cool and clear. After a delay as the top 10 pros idled out of The Glaze into the main lake to get clear of the fog, the competitors lit out onto a slick calm lake for the final day of competition.

Fall hit Lake of the Ozarks in earnest today, and while some stumbled at the onslaught, others adjusted. In all, the pros that made the cut to fish the final day of the Costa FLW Series presented by Evinrude represent some of the best talent the Ozarks have to offer and are stacked as tight as can be. Brian Maloney may be in the lead now, but the top three pros are only separated by 6 ounces, and with the lake fishing as well as it has, tomorrow is anyone's game.
The hometown University of Louisiana-Monroe team of Tyler Stewart and Nicholas Joiner, both of West Monroe, Louisiana, won the FLW College Fishing Southern Conference event on the Ouachita River Saturday with five bass weighing 16 pounds, 9 ounces. The victory earned the club $2,000 and advanced the team to the 2017 FLW College Fishing National Championship.
