Bradley Dortch of Bay Minette, Ala., won the Costa FLW Series Southeastern Division event presented by Mercury on Wheeler Lake by catching postspawn bass that were leaving spawning pockets and funneling into the main river.
Eddie Armstrong of West Point, Mississippi, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 14 pounds, 14 ounces, Saturday to win the third FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Mississippi Division of 2016 on Columbus Pool. Armstrong took home $4,839 for his victory.
Jeffrey Smith of Knob Noster, Missouri, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 6 ounces, Saturday to win the FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Ozark Division tournament on Grand Lake presented by Navionics. For his victory, Smith took home $4,235.
James Pickett of Trafalgar, Indiana, weighed four bass totaling 14 pounds, 4 ounces, Saturday to win the FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Hoosier Division tournament on Lake Monroe presented by Navionics. For his victory, Pickett earned $4,009.
Jared Mataczynski of Wausau, Wisconsin, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 20 pounds, 15 ounces, Saturday to win the FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Great Lakes Division tournament on the Mississippi River presented by Power-Pole. For his victory, Mataczynski took home $4,830.

Most of the fish caught in the Costa FLW Series Southeastern Division event presented by Mercury Marine and hosted by Florence/Lauderdale Tourism on Wheeler Lake came from the shallows. Up shallow, the pros were hardly one-trick ponies, using a wide array of baits to pick through Wheeler's plentiful shallow cover for the bass.

In a bit of final weigh-in surprise, Bradley Dortch of Bay Minette, Ala., came from fifth place to win the Costa FLW Series Southeastern Division event on Wheeler Lake presented by Mercury and hosted by Florence/Lauderdale Tourism. With a strong closing-round effort of 16-pounds, 11-ounces, Dortch totaled 45-10 to edge out the faltering leaders.
The name Allen Amour can usually be found in the Pro Division roster of FLW tournaments. He has spent many years fishing from the front of the boat. But this week he found himself fishing from the back of the boat on Wheeler Lake and when the Costa FLW Series event presented by Mercury and hosted by Florence/Lauderdale Tourism ended, he also found himself as the winner in the co-angler division.
Day three is shaping up to be a barn burner with tournament leader Kim Carver catching some good fish, yet the rest of the top five are also on fire.
