Winning it launched a kid named Jacob Wheeler toward becoming a Forrest Wood Cup champion. It was Clark Wendlandt's path to becoming a three-time Walmart FLW Tour Angler of the Year. Joe Thomas won it, and went on to host his own fishing TV shows. And it turned Shaw Grigsby into Shaw Grigsby the household name.

Finessing the Shad Spawn on Bridges

When you get to the time of year when bass are postspawn, the shad start spawning, and one of the first places they show up is around bridge pilings. The shad use the bridge pilings to beat the eggs out, and the bass follow right in behind.

Here at FLW, we're a patriotic bunch, and therefore have a few important tournament traditions worth noting. First, before every tournament takeoff someone says a prayer, and undoubtedly gives thanks for the members of the armed forces who protect our freedoms.

It couldn't have lined up better ... until it all went wrong. Actually, it didn't even go THAT wrong. Strader had two days of tough fishing and finished 77th at Chickamauga, meaning he still beat more than half the field.

Ron Smith of Walton, Kentucky, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 22 pounds, 4 ounces, Saturday to win the third FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) LBL Division tournament of 2016 on Kentucky and Barkley lakes. For his victory, Smith took home $5,394.

Adam Janerella of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 22 pounds, 10 ounces, Saturday to win the second FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Northeast Division tournament of 2016 on the Chesapeake Bay. For his victory, Janerella took home $4,037.

Kyle Kitts of Joplin, Missouri, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 17 pounds, 2 ounces, Saturday to win the third FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Okie Division tournament of 2016 on Eufaula Lake, presented by Navionics. For his victory, Kitts took home $4,507.

Chris Wilkinson of Farmersburg, Indiana, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 14 pounds, 7 ounces, Saturday to win the second FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Buckeye Division tournament of 2016 on the Ohio River, presented by Power-Pole. For his victory, Wilkinson took home $4,905.
