The Caledonia High School duo of Parker Humble and Kody White brought a five-bass limit to the scale Saturday weighing 13 pounds, 1 ounce, to win the 2016 TBF/FLW High School Fishing Mississippi State Championship on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. The win earned the team trophies, the title of state champions and advanced the team to the High School Fishing Southeastern Conference championship on Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Kentucky, on September 16-17.

Mother Nature threw everything she had at the Costa FLW Series Western Division anglers on Clear Lake today. Conditions seemed to change by the hour. There were clear skies in the morning, dense overcast conditions shortly after, heavy rainfall by the afternoon and scattered showers to finish the day. Todd Woods leads all anglers. He's targeting prespawn fish with moving baits. The rest of the top five anglers' used a mix of reaction bait tactics and sight-fishing.
Todd Woods jumped up one spot into the lead of the Costa FLW Series Western Division on Clear Lake presented by Mercury. A two-day total of 60 pounds, 7 ounces put him 2 pound, 9 ounces ahead of second place. The top-10 anglers will launch out of Konocti Vista Resort Casino & Marina tomorrow for the final day of competition.
Mother nature could not make up her mind today. The morning started out with a light overcast then it started to rain for a bit. Once that subsided there was a brief window of clear skies. At 11 a.m. dense clouds and heavier rains rolled in. There has been scattered showers ever since.

Clouds came and went on opening day of the Costa FLW Series Western Division event presented by Mercury on Clear Lake, leaving open windows of clear visibility that allowed Jim Moulton to take the lead by catching 33 pounds, 2 ounces of bedding bass. Others near the top of the leaderboard sight-fished as well, but a mix of moving and reaction baits also played a role.
Jim Moulton of Cerced, Calif., caught the second biggest bass of the day on his way to leading the Costa FLW Series Western Division event on Clear Lake presented by Mercury. A 10 pound, 15 ounce behemoth has Moulton breaking the 33-pound mark and taking a slim lead into day two.
The clouds were scattered early in the morning and guys were catching fish on beds. Many anglers ran to the north end of the lake and were slowly working boat docks and tule lines. Jimmy Reese was spotted catching a 7-pound bass while his co-angler wrangled in one over double digits. Many of the anglers our on the water crew rolled up on had a large fish to show off.
FLW announced today a sponsorship agreement with Unilever to showcase the Lipton tea brand. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Day one of the Costa FLW Series Western Division event on Clear Lake presented by Mercury is underway after launching out of the Konocti Vista Casino Resort & Marina. After several days of clear blue skies, heavy clouds rolled in overnight. The 111 pros and co-anglers will need to adapt to the incoming front as they vie for the $33,000 top prize.
