Though Greg Gutierrez took a significant lead into the final day of the Costa FLW Series event presented by Minn Kota on Shasta Lake, the rest of the top 10 pros weren't out of it and were on 'em all week. While the Western Division opener was plagued by bad and changing weather, every member of the top 10 managed a limit each day, and all but Roy Hawk averaged more than 10 pounds per day for the event.

Charles Story of Evans, Georgia, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 25 pounds, 4 ounces, Saturday to win the second FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Savannah River Division tournament of 2016 on Clarks Hill Lake. For his victory, Story took home $6,244.

The California Polytechnic State University duo of sophomore Nick Rinauro of San Jose, California, and freshman Alec Pitts of Santa Rosa, California, won the FLW College Fishing Western Conference opener on Shasta Lake Saturday with five bass weighing 12 pounds, 3 ounces.
If you're headed to Lake Shasta in the spring or late winter, you should probably consider taking along some of the following baits.

Banking on a finesse bite while many others sought to catch them on moving baits, Greg Gutierrez of Red Bluff, Calif., locked up the win in the first Costa FLW Series Western Division event of the year in style.
After sitting in second at the end of days one and two of the Costa FLW Series Western Division event presented by Minn Kota on Lake Shasta, Jack Farage held on to take the co-angler by a nose. The Discovery Bay, Calif., co-angler totaled 30 pounds, 3 ounces, to edge second place co-angler Jake Stephens of Carmel, Calif., who weighed 29-5.
The final day of the Costa FLW Series event on Shasta Lake has unfolded as many of the competitors expected thus far. Pleasant post-frontal conditions have enveloped the lake that was previously battered with storms and the fishing seems to have toughened with the improved weather.

Day two of the Costa FLW Series Western Division event on Shasta Lake featured wild weather and a boatload of changes on the leaderboard. Coming out on top after the second day of the three-day tournament presented by Minn Kota was Greg Gutierrez of Red Bluff, Calif., who caught five bass for 15 pounds, 13 ounces on day two and has a total of 27-2.
