If it's always easy, anyone can catch `em; but when meteorological mayhem crashes the party, only those who make the right adjustments and work within the realities of what's occurring will fare well. That's the story of Ricky Guy's victory in the Costa FLW Series Southwestern Division opener - presented by Mercury - on Sam Rayburn Reservoir - an event plagued by post-frontal conditions left by a major storm system that lashed the Gulf coast states earlier in the week.
Byron Kenney of Griffin, Georgia, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 16 pounds, 7 ounces, Saturday to win the FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Bulldog Division tournament on Lake Lanier presented by Power-Pole. For his victory, Kenney took home $4,763.
David Wright of Lexington, North Carolina, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 15 pounds, 11 ounces, Saturday to win the first FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) North Carolina Division tournament of 2016 on Lake Norman. For his victory, Wright took home $5,905.

Given the lack of control over site selection and preferred fishing styles and the day-to-day inconsistencies of randomly selected pros, co-anglers have a tough road to tournament victory. That said, placing 75th on day one rarely gives cause for optimism.

Ricky Guy of Humble, Texas made some big changes in his location and his tactics and took the day two lead in the Costa FLW Series event presented by Mercury with a total weight of 49 pounds, 12 ounces. Guy focused his efforts on spawning fish to produce the day's biggest fish - a 10-pounder.
