MDJ, Fitzgerald Battle for AOY

May 20, 2015 8:39 am
The Southeast Division of the Rayovac FLW Series will wrap up this week on Lake Seminole after what has been an action-packed season complete with record fields and 30-pound stringers. On top of battling for the $40,000 top prize for winning the event, anglers will also be competing to claim the Strike King Angler of the Year award and its $2,000 prize package, which includes deposits into the 2016 FLW Series. The AOY finale is likely to be a two-man race between Mark Daniels Jr. and Trevor Fitzgerald, but several other pros are within range of stealing away the title. Here's how it breaks down.

Blog: What Might Have Been at Eufaula

Lake Eufaula is in the books, but ever since the tournament I haven't slept very well. If you know me, you know I just "love" losing fish, but I think this latest event was the worst of my career. I finished 12th, which isn't so bad, but the "what could have beens" got me again. On the last day of practice, I caught nearly 30 pounds, including one around 10 pounds and a 7 1/2-pounder, making it a day I'll never forget.
