Rayovac Redemption

To begin my ridiculously long off-season, I'll reflect on my 2014 tournament season. The Walmart FLW Tour was hard on me. Of course, it started with that mechanical disaster en route to the first-day weigh-in at Okeechobee (the season-opener) and concluded with my first whiff on the Forrest Wood Cup in 13 years. I've erased it completely already, so I can't reflect on any of it. It was atrocious!

Gillespie Claims Co-angler Crown

September 20, 2014 9:44 pm
LA CROSSE, Wis. - Carl Gillespie of Old Hickory, Tenn., couldn't have asked for a better week. It seemed hard enough for many of the pros to connect with quality bites, let alone the co-anglers. But Gillespie stayed focused and posted double-digit limits every day of the event en route to his first title as a co-angler.

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Call it redemption for local stick Jimmy Johnson who finally claimed a Rayovac FLW Series title on his home water of the Mississippi River after years of close calls. Despite the trying conditions anglers dealt with this week, Johnson still managed to tally up 45 pounds, 7 ounces worth of bass in three days to go wire-to-wire on his home water.
