HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Scott Dobson of Clarkston, Michigan, weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 42 pounds even to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Michigan Division Super Tournament on Lake St. Clair Sunday. For his victory, Dobson earned $7,932.
LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. - Brandon Houston of Burlington, Kentucky, weighed a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 18 pounds, 10 ounces to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Hoosier Division Super Tournament on the Ohio River at Tanner's Creek Sunday. For his victory, Houston earned $5,077.

Castrol pros David Dudley and Philip Jarabeck will be on hand to sign autographs and answer fishing questions Saturday, Oct. 4 and 18 at Eager Beaver Car Wash and Castrol Premium Lube Express located at 4935 Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station, NY.
FLW College Fishing has exploded in popularity over the past few years and it is now being taken to the next level. Most of the hundreds of teams across the country are clubs with varying affiliations with the schools.
Right now a lot of tournament fishermen are trying to land sponsor deals for 2015. Consequently, I guess it's pretty accurate to say that the No. 1 question any long-term pro angler gets asked this time of year is, "How do I get sponsors?"

The 2014 Walmart BFL season continues with five two-day Super Tournaments on Sept. 27-28. The Hoosier Division is headed to the Ohio River, the Michigan Division will take on Lake St. Clair, the North Carolina Division will convene on Lake Norman, the Ozark Division will fish Lake of the Ozarks and the Volunteer Division will fish at Watts Barr Lake. Up to 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing in each event for top awards up to $11,000 and $4,500.
Fishermen are starting to catch on to the importance of profile when using buzzbaits, especially in the fall when the fish are more particular. When you're fishing a buzzbait and the fish either miss it or just swirl at it, usually it's a speed thing or the profile in the water isn't right. They're keying on something, and you've got to figure it out.

Tournament season is a busy time for professional anglers. For the wives they leave behind at home, life is busy too, especially if the wives are also moms. For our family, the 2014 season was one full of trials.
