HARDIN, Ky. - The Rayovac FLW Series is headed to Kentucky Lake May 29-31 when as many as 300 pros and co-anglers take to the water for the second stop of 2014 in the Central Division.

Another Nixon joins the FLW ranks

It's not unusual to see the last name "Nixon" near the top of the standings in a bass tournament. But at the Walmart Bass Fishing League Arkie Division tournament at Lake Dardanelle on Feb. 22, the Nixon in the top five wasn't the one most fishing fans are accustomed to seeing show out at tournaments. In his first career BFL event, Leland Nixon of Bee Branch, Ark., youngest brother of Chevy pro Larry Nixon, sacked an impressive 21-pound, 3-ounce limit to finish third, supporting the argument that bass fishing talent often runs in the family.

Stacey King: Facing the challenge of cancer

Stacey King, currently ranked 26th in the Angler of the Year standings, will forego the final two Walmart FLW Tour events of the 2014 season to undergo cancer treatments. King, 65, will have his tonsils removed Thursday morning, and doctors will then determine what sort of treatments he'll require going forward.

FLW College Fishing readies for Mighty Miss

FORT MADISON, Iowa. - FLW College Fishing is headed to the Mississippi River May 31 for the third and final regular-season stop in the Central Conference. Up to 50 college teams will be competing for a top award of $2,000 and a berth in the Central Conference Invitational tournament.

The Bass Federation (TBF) and FLW, the world's largest tournament-fishing organization, have partnered to present the 2014 Iowa State High School Fishing Championship. The tournament will take place on the Mississippi River in Fort Madison, Iowa, and is open to any High School Fishing team in the entire state of Iowa. The 2014 schedule represents a major expansion of High School Fishing by FLW and The Bass Federation due to an increased demand.

The tournament will take place on Bull Shoals Lake in Bull Shoals, Ark., and is open to any High School Fishing team in the entire state of Arkansas. Walmart BFL tournament preview

The 2014 Walmart BFL season continues with three tournaments on Saturday, May 31. The Mountain Division will fish Barren River Lake, the North Carolina Division will continue their season on Kerr Lake and the Northeast Division will meet for the second time on the Potomac River. Up to 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing in each event for top awards up to $8,000 and $3,000 respectively.
