SENECA, S.C. - It seems nothing can stop Casey Ashley when it comes to catching bass on Lake Hartwell, his home pond - not cold, not wind, not rain and not even a three-hour fog delay. While most of the pros struggled just to put a limit in the boat Saturday, Ashley caught a 15-pound, 7-ounce stringer and built nearly a 10-pound lead.
SENECA, S.C. - Despite being a Walmart FLW Tour rookie, David Redington was developing a reputation back home in Texas for starting bass tournaments with a bang. The only problem was that he tended not to back up those strong day-one weights. That trend followed him to the FLW Tour where in his first tournament he caught 14 pounds, 12 ounces on opening day at Lake Okeechobee. True to form, he only boxed two keepers on day two and slid down the leaderboard.
SENECA, S.C. - Throughout the first two days of competition at the 2014 FLW College Fishing National Championship, the University of Louisiana-Monroe team of Brian Eaton and Nick LaDart dominated nearly all of the headlines. And rightfully so. As the defending national champions, all eyes were on ULM to see if the team could pull off back-to-back titles and equal the powerhouse run of the University of Florida - who captured national championship titles in 2009 and 2010.
HIXSON, Tenn. - John Talton of Georgetown, Tenn., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 25 pounds, 5 ounces Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Volunteer Division event on Lake Chickamauga. For his victory, Talton earned $3,842.
GROVE, Okla. - Chris McCall of Brookeland, Texas, weighed four bass totaling 18 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Okie Division event on Grand Lake. For his victory, McCall earned $5,604.
