NORTH EAST, Md. - By almost any metric, fishing on the Chesapeake Bay was brutal today. Normally one of the most prolific fisheries on the East Coast, the "Bay" left plenty of EverStart Series anglers shaking their heads as they paraded across the stage Thursday - observing in almost lockstep accord that they've never seen this body of water fish so tough.
NORTH EAST, Md. - With smothering humidity, light winds and overcast skies setting the table for Thursday's action, EverStart Series Northern Division anglers departed the Anchor Marina shortly after 7 a.m. with the goal of unlocking the "transitional" puzzle that the Chesapeake Bay has thrown their way.

I really like throwing a topwater in late summer and early fall because a lot of fish are returning to the shallows and roaming the banks in small schools looking for shad. Because you tend to cover a lot of water to find these wolfpack bass, use a surface lure that you can get some distance with on the cast.

SALISBURY, N.C. - James Blankenship of Lexington, N.C., weighed a 10-bass limit over two days totaling 33 pounds, 8 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League North Carolina Division Super Tournament on High Rock Lake. For his victory, Blankenship earned $5,196.
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. - Kevin Snider of Elizabethtown, Ky., weighed a 10-bass limit over two days totaling 31 pounds, 8 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Mountain Division Super Tournament on Barren River Lake. For his victory, Snider earned $7,874.
LAWRENCEBURG, Ind., - Chris Wilkinson of Farmersburg, Ind., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass for 16 pounds even Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Buckeye Division Super Tournament on the Ohio River at Tanner's Creek. For his victory, Wilkinson earned $4,540.
OSAGE BEACH, Mo. - Joe Brantley of Willard, Mo., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass for 35 pounds, 13 ounces to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Ozark Division Super Tournament on Lake of the Ozarks on Sunday. For his victory, Brantley earned $5,632.
CLAYTON, N.Y. - Brian Bylotas of Scott Township, Pa., weighed a two-day total of 10 bass for 48 pounds, 2 ounces to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Northeast Division Super Tournament at 1000 Islands on Sunday. For his victory, Bylotas earned $5,817.
