HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Mark Hensiek of Humnoke, Ark., weighed in a two-day total of nine bass for 21 pounds, 6 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Arkie Division Super Tournament on Lake Hamilton. For his victory, Hensiek earned $3,971.
ROCKWOOD, Tenn. - Brian Hazel of Clinton, Tenn., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass for 30 pounds, 14 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Volunteer Division Super Tournament on Watts Bar Lake. For his victory, Hazel earned $4,268.
MARBURY, Md. - Steve Miller of Mechanicsville, Va., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass for 29 pounds, 2 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division Super Tournament on the Potomac River. For his victory, Miller earned $5,387.
CLEWISTON, Fla. - Timothy Feller of Coral Springs, Fla., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass for 41 pounds even Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Gator Division Super Tournament on Lake Okeechobee. For his victory, Feller earned $9,816.

The Forrest Wood Cup is the Super Bowl of bass fishing and the Red River, along with the city of Shreveport and Bossier City, served as the perfect venue. This was my 11th straight Cup in my 11 years on the FLW Tour and I'm so glad I got to experience this one.

I've been involved with FLW "officially" for eight years now. Lots of people ask me how I got to be the Director of Public Relations for the world's premier tournament-fishing organization, so I'll tell you. It's a career path I never could have planned.

There are all sorts of landing nets, but not all of them are good for bass fishing. I have three I use most often. Ninety-nine percent of the time, I carry a net with a telescoping handle that extends to about 6 feet. In a tournament, this is the net I want my co-angler to use.

MINNEAPOLIS - FLW has announced the 2014 Walmart Bass Fishing League schedule, which includes 120 regular-season tournaments spread across 24 divisions, each with four one-day qualifying tournaments that pay as much as $8,000 to the winning boater and $3,000 to the winning co-angler.
Like it is for most anglers, Ken Golub's rookie season on the Walmart FLW Tour was a trying one. Between learning new lakes and battling against the best sticks in the world, Golub admittedly was overwhelmed and at times felt lost. Year two showed marked improvement as the New York pro cashed checks in four of the six regular-season events and narrowly missed qualifying for the Forrest Wood Cup.

Anchored by the convergence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers, along with countless tributaries and rural streams, Delta waters comprise a labyrinthine of navigable arteries, all subject to tidal influence through their common connection to San Francisco Bay. There's plenty of area to spread out and select your own little piece of paradise, but don't be surprised if you find yourself overwhelmed with a dilemma borne of abundance - in other words, it all looks fishy.
