HARDIN, Ky. - As predicted, strong winds shook, smacked and stomped EverStart Series Central Division competitors up and down Kentucky Lake today, leaving more than one angler to mourn his blown-away hot spot with a tube of Bengay and a pack of ice.
HARDIN, Ky. - A deceptively gentle breeze swayed the boats on the first morning of EverStart Series Central Division competition on Kentucky Lake today, and the inhabitants of many of those boats will spend the day making a long run. What felt like a gentle, cooling wind is actually the beginning of a lake wind advisory that could complicate the plans of anglers who plan to make the fabled long run to New Johnsonville, Tenn.

We at FLW have had the distinct pleasure of being Aaron Hall's friend as well as business associate for the past 12 years. Anyone who knew Aaron knows exactly what is meant by it being a "distinct pleasure". He was truly a unique man that there will never be the likes of again. I'm very serious about preparing for a tournament. I probably spend four hours or more the day and evening before a tournament getting everything ready. I make sure any mechanical issues with my equipment are settled. I put fresh line on the reels that I used in practice, and maybe change lines because of something I've noticed about the water clarity.

Professional bass fishing brings out a wide range of emotions for an angler, often changing by the minute. When you look past the fancy boats, wrapped trucks and jerseys plastered with logos, all anglers share a common feeling - fishing is fun. That doesn't always hold true as the years roll by, but for the most part these guys wouldn't be out there if they weren't enjoying themselves.

Despite the best weather and water conditions I could have ever dream up, I had another bomb in an FLW Tour major. Grand Lake was really high and muddy from recent severe storms in the Tulsa area, but the fishing was still quite good.
