OKEECHOBEE, Fla. - Ben Todd of Pierson, Fla., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 16 pounds, 3 ounces Saturday to lead wire-to-wire and win the EverStart Series Southeast Division event on Lake Okeechobee with a three-day total of 15 bass weighing 59 pounds, 3 ounces. For his victory, Todd earned $40,000.

OKEECHOBEE, Fla. - The Lincoln Memorial University team of Chris Hunt of Loudon, Tenn., and Kyle Warwick of Oak Ridge, Tenn. won the FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference event on Lake Okeechobee Saturday with four bass weighing 17 pounds even. The victory earned the club $2,000 and advanced the team to the FLW College Fishing Southeastern Conference Invitational tournament.

A lot of people don't use an umbrella rig in the prespawn, but maybe they should. To me it's a great follow-up lure to a lipless crankbait or square-bill when you're fishing shallow flats or gravel banks.
