With a new season of tournaments upon us we thought it would be a good idea to look back on the top baits from across the FLW circuits in 2016. This past season we saw that a tournament can be won on something as simple as one single bait, to a multitude of baits used tactically throughout the entire event.

Chasing down the big spotted bass that live in the Coosa and Alabama rivers can be pretty electrifying. They pull hard, get big and will smash a topwater plug given the right circumstances. FLW Tour pro Jamie Horton has a lot of experience hunting tournament-winning spots on the rivers near his home in Centerville, Ala., and one of his favorite ways to target them is with a prop bait.

Funeral services for well-known Tennessee outdoor writer, radio celebrity and television show host Wade Bourne will take place Tuesday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Clarksville, Tenn. Bourne, who was 69 at the time of his death, suffered a fatal heart attack Dec. 15 while cutting a cedar Christmas tree near his home.

According to social media reports by FLW Tour pros Jimmy Houston and Jason Johnson, fellow pro Cody Meyer has landed a spotted bass in California of record proportions. Meyer's fish reportedly weighed 10.8 pounds, and its weight was certified by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
